 helping you make money online

Why you need your own website

When I first decided to get involved with online business on the internet, I didn't really know much at all.  So I set out to learn the way most people do. I typed a phrase like 'make money online' or 'internet home business' into a search engine, and had a look at what turned up.

Lots of junk

I didn't realise it at the time, but many of the so-called opportunities out there are either junk, or complete time-wasters.  But like many people I didn't know enough to realise that.

I downloaded gigabytes of software, ebooks.... anything at all that was remotely interesting to me. Most of it is still sitting on my hard drive today, doing nothing but take up space. I still haven't read it all and am never likely to.
I spent hours of my time surfing traffic exchanges promoting affiliate links, clicking on Paid-To -Read emails, and completing surveys. Sure, I made a few dollars, but it didn't really seem to be worth all the effort involved.
I got 'sucked-in' at times by brilliant and persuasive advertising. I've brought products and services that sometimes turned out to be junk or overpriced. There are more than a few businesses on the internet where the underlying 'product' is really nothing more than learning how to sell the same, so-called 'product', to others. It can be ridiculously circular at times.

Most people give up after a few experiences like those above. They've spent hours of their time, lost a few or even a lot of dollars, and have little to show for it, (or so they think). So they quit.

Giving up at just the wrong time

But what they have overlooked is the value of the experience and knowledge they've gained. They've picked up quite a lot of information about such things as:

the many and varied types of online businesses around
the different ways people go about attempting to earn an income on the internet
which sort of things seem to work best
the clues on a website that indicate a scam, illegality or a non-viable business model.

the people who market junk products, and the people who don't.

maybe they've now got contacts - people they know they can trust, and can seek second opinions or advice about something

Sure, they still don't have all the answers (who does?), but they've moved past the novice stage and now have a foundation of knowledge and skills they didn't have before. When you stop and think about it, this is very valuable.
