We use all the hosting services shown below. That doesn't make them the best hosting services for you, but our recommended hosting service choices take into account the factors we discuss here. Make sure you read these again before you make your final choice.

Hosting is such a fast changing field that we won't even attempt to give a detailed comparison of individual hosting firms.  

Kiosk  -  Monthly payment basis for all plans. Free unlimited 'Supersponder' autoresponder service gives you the ability to have as many different mailing lists as you want to create. Best recurring income affiliate scheme, good training videos on C-Panel usage, website builder. Customer service is prompt. I've moved some of my other websites here after upgrading to Platinum level and reduced my overall hosting costs.

You get a complete, almost turnkey, marketing package here.  As just one example of the many goodies, have a look at the free tools and training videos you can offer to build your own mailing list, or make available to clients. 

Like Kiosk, the LGT recurring affiliate income commission scheme is a feature you won't find offered by many hosting firms.

Free Web Hosts

There are plenty of these around, but you ultimately get what you pay for. If a hosting firm is not making money it will go out of business at some point. I've tried free hosting services myself in the past, now I don't bother with them at all.  

Before you jump into a free hosting plan, make sure you understand how the firm involved makes enough money to stay operating. If they say they won't put advertising on your 'free' website, thats a source of revenue they can't access. So where and how are they going to get the money they need to stay in business?  Are they going to change the rules on you down the track?

If you still decide free hosting is what you want, then make sure you always have up-to-date backups of all your website files stored on your own hard drive.
