Downline Builders

Downline builders (aka as downline clubs) can be handy way of joining a number of MLM work at home businesses, and focusing your efforts. But only if the underlying network marketing opportunities are good ones.

How do downline builders work?

The idea behind them is to provide a single website, to promote a number of other websites from a central point. You join them for free usually, and you don't earn any money from just joining the downline club. We strongly recommend you avoid downline builders that charge you a fee for joining, unless there are some added benefits that are very clearly worth the extra cost. We haven't found any of those yet.

Most often, the downline builder promotes a number of business that require some payment to participate in. After you join one or more of these underlying businesses, your referral link for that business becomes the one people who join the downline club after you will use. You only earn money if your signups to the downline builder decide to follow you into the biz-ops being promoted.

This can present a problem. If there is more than one business opportunity included in the downline club, should you join them all? The short answer is NO. Don't let yourself be swayed by the argument that if you don't, you will somehow 'miss out' on the commissions you could have earned. Trust your own instincts. If you don't think one or more of the business opportunity choices available is any good, then its likely that other people will feel the same way. A dud is still a dud, regardless of how it is packaged.

Downline builders come in many different forms. Sometimes they can be targeted to a very specific type of internet service, rather than business opportunities.

For example, a downline club might be formed just to build (say) a personal mailing list. In this type, if you are a free, rather than paid member, you may have to agree to receive a limited number of emails from paid-up members.

You need to think carefully before joining and promoting any downline club, as any promotion effort by you that results in others joining the club also provides the downline club owners with a mailing list that you do not not have access to. You gain no benefit at all unless your sign-ups join one of the business opportunities within the club. That may be okay, after all you are being provided with an additional marketing method for a business opportunity you already know all about, but at least understand that this is what you are doing.

Downline builders for traffic exchanges are very common too, and you can find the ones we recommend here.

However the variations you might encounter all have the same theme - to provide a single central sign-up for a number of other websites.

You encounter the same difficulties with downline builders as you do when you promote a single business. If you don't look after your own downline members you will find that few will be active in getting other people to join up, and even fewer will actually hand over money to upgrade in the promoted work at home business opportunities.
