Get more web site traffic 

More web site traffic is always better than less, even if the traffic is sometimes 'low-quality'. And there are lots of ways, many of them free, that you can use to get more web site traffic.

Putting it simply, the more you build web site traffic, the more likely it is that someone will buy what you are offering.

That's not a complete picture. Such things as product quality and audience targeting are also important.

Not all traffic is equal. Different web site traffic sources such as search engines, hit exchanges, FFA pages or incoming links have their own characteristics.  What matters most though is that you have realistic expectations about the marketing value of the traffic you create in each case.

For example, many people use autosurfers to build traffic volumes, purely to boost their Alexa rating. So the marketing value of a very large proportion of traffic from that source is likely to be almost zero if it is directed straight to your web site.

If you accept that as a fact of life before you start, then you are being realistic.

Much the same applies to FFA web pages. They too have a low 'marketing value'

So why use low value traffic sources at all?

One very good reason is that the difference between 'success' and 'failure' is often due to 'small' things. Each might not amount to much on its own, but the collective impact of a number of them can make the difference between making or losing money overall.

Another good reason is that we can take almost for granted that constant innovation is going to occur. That FFA site we see today may well change its form in the future, and a portfolio of memberships in the better sites might end up being quite valuable in the future. 

So don't write off today's 'low marketing value' traffic sources too quickly. Things may change. 

Many people get discouraged when they don't achieve success in their promotion efforts with the traffic they build. The truth is you will achieve some results from almost any traffic building technique you use, provided you apply it properly, and constantly strive to improve your results.
